Salvation Army Angel Tree Austin Texas

Want to teach your kids about giving?  If you have the means I recommend this rewarding activity. The Salvation Army Angel Tree provides new Christmas toys and clothes to families in need in both Travis and Williamson Counties.   You start by finding an angel tree located at Austin malls:

The trees have tags with the name, age and gender of a child in need.   They have sizes for clothes and presents suggestions from the kids plus a note on what the child needs.  We chose a 7/8 year old girl and a 2/3 your old girl so each one of my girls could help choose the items.   Once you have selected a tag they gave us a bag and off to Target we went.  The recommend your purchase 2 items of clothing and 2 toys per child.

At Target my kids really got into picking out the gifts and clothes and even helped pay with a target gift card received from her birthday.   We put all the items in the designated bags and hauled them back to the mall.  Looks like we might be starting a new holiday giving tradition.

If you don't have time to shop but still want to give you can call (512) 605-1410 now to donate to the Angel Tree program.
